Net Radiation Monitoring

Prestigious Research Institution Assam, India
Products:YuDash LYNXYuFourIAModbus RTUMQTT4G/LTESolar + Battery

The Challenge

Climate researchers required continuous, reliable measurement of shortwave, longwave, and net radiation at a remote outdoor field site in Assam with no mains power. Existing data collection was intermittent and required manual retrieval — unsuitable for the diurnal analysis and long-term trend work the team needed.

The Solution

YuDash integrated the Apogee SN-522 Modbus-compatible net radiometer with the LYNX data logger running in ultra-low-power mode, powered by a solar panel and battery bank. Data is pushed every minute via MQTT over 4G to the YuFourIA cloud platform, where researchers access real-time dashboards, historical trend charts, and automated anomaly alerts. Local buffering handles cloud outages with automatic backfill on reconnection.
